CenOmax enters digiframe game with seven-inch F7012A

CenOmax only a new spinoff of Lite-On, okay? Now that we've handled that, the firm's first foray into the digital photo frame arena is the seven-inch F7012A, which sports a 480 x 234 resolution panel, 400:1 contrast ratio, a USB port and a multicard reader capable of handling 15 different formats. Furthermore, this one supports MP3 playback through its built-in speakers, allows for automatic slideshows and also includes an integrated alarm / calendar. For Halloween (er, right?), the frame comes bundled with black (shown after the break) and orange clip-on frames, but users can theme it up however they like for a variety of occasions. As of now, this one's available only in Europe for £48 ($98), but we've got enough alternatives here in the US to keep our hearts from breaking.

Interact-TV announces 3.75TB MediaPool home media server

While we're still kind of left wondering where the reviews are for all of Interact-TV's previous kit, the company is announcing a new, 3.75TB MediaPool home media server. At this point, the typical conversion into # of DVDs capable of being stored becomes a little absurd: ~750, in case you were wondering. It's also upgradeable to 5TB in a RAID 10 formation thanks Hitachi and co. -- and features enough throughput for high definition video. We're guessing that means the MediaPool features HDMI, although since Interact-TV failed to include that basic fact in the press release, that assumption could eventually make an ass out of ... well, nevermind.

Samsung's SP-A800B 1080p DLP projector sure is curvy

Samsung knows a thing or two about working a trade show. IFA's no different. Meet the spacey SP-A800B 1080p (0.95-inch DMD chip from TI) DLP projector on the loose in Berlin. It features a 24fps film mode and a 2,000-hour, 300W lamp which throws 1,000 lumens at a 10,000:1 rated contrast at a relatively noisy 25dB. Around back you'll find 2x HDMI, RGB for your PC, 2x component, S-Video, and RS-232. Sorry, no prices or expected date for availability.

Sony busts out headphones big and small

Sony looks to be catering to headphone-wearers of all sorts with its latest offerings, busting out the full-size DR-BT22 Bluetooth phones alongside the decidedly small DR-EX32SF earbud headset. In addition to keeping things cordless, the DR-BT22 model also keeps things relatively compact with a foldable design, and you'll get all the most desirable Bluetooth-related acronyms, including A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP. Those looking for even more portability can opt for the company's DR-EX32SF headset, which drops the Bluetooth but adds a built-in microphone (and your choice of black or white colors). While there doesn't appear to be any word on a North American release, those in Japan should be able to pick up either one starting September 10th, with the Bluetooth phones setting you back ¥10,000 ($87) and the earbuds running just ¥3,000 ($26).

Dospara intros MSI-branded Prime Note Galleria

Japan's Dospara doesn't look to be trying too hard to conceal the source of its latest laptop, with the MSI logo prominently displayed on the lid of its new Prime Note Galleria, and just barely visible below the screen above. Cross-branding issues aside, the laptop certainly looks like it'll get the job done, boasting a 17-inch 1680 x 1050 display, Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and, perhaps most notably, GeForce 8600 GT graphics. Of course, all that comes at the expense of an eight pound carrying weight, but if that's not too off-putting, you can grab one now for just under ¥200,000 (or roughly $1,700).

Wibrain's B1 UMPC: hideous, yet strangely appealing

Ok, it's ugly as sin (and pretty thick, to boot), but we have to give props to Wibrain's new B1 UMPC. Besides coming equipped with a Via C7m CPU up to 1.6GHz, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, a VGA camera, HSDPA, and a full QWERTY keyboard and trackpad, the thing's going to sell for a mere 600 or 700k Korean Won (about $650 - $760 US) when it's launched overseas this October.

Pioneer's BDP-LX80 Blu-ray player supports HD audio bitstream output

Pioneer just announced that Blu-ray Disc player with "HD audio bitstream output" they alluded to with the launch of their BDP-LX70. In what appears to be an industry first for BD players, the new BDP-LX80 supports bitstream output of both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD high resolution lossless audio output over HDMI 1.3. Sorry, no DTS-HD Master Audio this time. Still, a worthy update from the LX70 assuming your home theater gear is properly matched to decode that signal. Something you'll want to check, and double-check, before dropping the tax inclusive roll of ¥210,000 or about $1,768. We could be wrong, but the move from the LX70 to LX80 appears to be a firmware change only so why all the fuss with a new model Pioneer? If true, then don't be surprised to find a hacked version of the firmware for the LX70 on the Internets soon enough. No word on a global launch -- Japan-only for now with a local release scheduled for October.

In a refreshing change of pace from Samsung's traditional black-slab design, we bring you this trio of hotness: the SGH-E950, SGH-E840, and SGH-J600 pictured above left-to-right. All are on display right now at ComnunicAsia and ready to ship in Southeast Asia before July is up. Of the three, only the E840 has a shot of making it Stateside with its quadband GSM, EDGE radios packed into the world's slimmest 10.6-mm slider. It features a 2 megapixel camera and up to 2GB of MicroSD to store your media. Nice and all but we'd love to get out hands on the tri-band GSM E950 instead. That black box on the face is actually a touch-sensitive display which fills itself with a variety of icons depending upon how the phone is being used. Interestingly, the FCC approved J600's main claim to fame is its "intense hues" of "mystical colors" like, say "dark gray" -- riiight, and dreary office cubicles are just tiny magical kingdoms for gifted marketing drones. Oregon Scientific has been busting out some pretty slick gear lately, and its new BA900 Crystal Weather Station is no exception. The acrylic block features three laser-engraved 3-D icons that light up in color to represent sunshine, precipitation, or cloudy skies, while the radio-controlled atomic clock in the base switches to a temperature readout with just a wave of your hand. We're hearing this thing will ship in December for about $60 -- just in time for that rain icon to be rendered totally inaccurate.

Sony Ericsson K850 / K530 handsets get spotted

No sooner than Sony Ericsson goes and makes the K850 and K530 (amongst many others) official, it looks like there's already been some hands-on action with a pair. Reportedly snapped at the recent Sony Ericsson product launch in Hong Kong, the five-megapixel K850 cameraphone was oohed and ahhed over, but the not-exactly-soft soft keys and lack of backlighting seemed to be a bit of a drag. The K530 was admittedly in early prototype mode, so not much was known other than it still sported the generic model designation of SE123. But hey, at least the photos waiting after the jump will somewhat quell your insatiable desire for more details about these mobiles.

If you've been holding out for a red version of the Zune to hit the market before you finally make the plunge, we're guessing the more reasonable metrics of "number of friends with a Zune" or "number of rational software features implemented by Microsoft" aren't really your cup of tea. HP launches environmentally friendly rp5700 slim desktop PC

As the green trend looms ever larger over the consumer electronics industry, HP is taking full advantage of the opportunity by unveiling the environmentally friendly rp5700 slim desktop PC. The company toots its own horn by boasting about the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold award that the machine has garnered, and we'd assume that building it from 95-percent recyclable components and packing it in a box made from at least 25-percent post-consumer recycled cardboard had something to do with it. Additionally, the unit sports an uber-efficient power supply and comes with "an optional solar renewable energy source" to extract juice from the sun. As for hardware, you'll find Intel Core 2 Duo chips up to 2.13GHz, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, SATA hard drives as large as 250GB, optional RAID 1 setups, and your choice of operating system. Of course, the EPEAT Gold-certified machine steps it down to a Celeron 440 CPU with 512MB of RAM, and while this particular configuration will start at $817, other options are available today from $648 right on up.

If you're a fan of Meizu's audio gear then you'll be stoked at this, the skinny Meizu M6se. At just 7-mm (0.28-inches) thin, it extracts the bulk from the original M6 while remaining true (for good or for bad) to the original design and control. In case you're keeping track (and we know you are) the new M6 packs an extra 0.5-mm (0.02-inches) of negligible chub compared to its famously slim iPod nano competitor. Yet it packs a relatively massive 2.4-inch QVGA display and FM tuner. You can still expect support for all the MP3, WAV, OGG audio and AVI video you can stuff into its 8GB of flash for an incredibly cheap $130. Right, that's about half the cost of the 8GB nano assuming the price remains the same when these hit domestic markets. So if you buy on price and specs vs. emotional appeal and a friendly ecosystem, well, you'll want to keep an eye on that August ship date.

Yeah, that satellite is freaky small and just a part of Sony's micro DAV-IS10 home theater system. Their 5.1 channel home-theater-in-a-box features 5 of the tiny speakers matched with a sub offering 450 watts of total system power (satellite speakers 50W x 5, plus 2-way subwoofer 100W x 2). The system features Sony's new BRAVIA Theater Sync technology for communicating with BRAVIA panels over HDMI and should be easy to setup with the help of Sony's Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (DCAC) optimization tech. While Lenovo's ThinkPad T61 already showed off most of the the firm's newest laptop features, the R61 and 3000 N200 bring a little flavor of their own to the ever-expanding Santa Rosa funfest. These two tag along as some of Lenovo's "coolest, quietest, and longest running" lappies ever, and each sport the Top Cover Roll Cage (pictured after the break) that reportedly provides LCD support that's 20-percent stronger than previous models. The 14.1-inch R61 will sport an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, support for 802.11n and Bluetooth, Ultra Connect II, your choice of Intel or NVIDIA integrated graphics, a four-in-one media card reader, and an optional integrated webcam to boot. The budget-minded 3000 N200 opts for a 15.4-inch widescreen display, 802.11n, Ethernet, Bluetooth, an integrated fingerprint reader, five-in-one multicard reader, built-in camera / microphone, and Intel or NVIDIA chipsets running the graphical show. Nokia N95 Starts Shipping, Not Yet Available in USA

In a press release, Nokia has announced that they have started shipping the long awaited N95 to selected countries in Europe, Asia and Middle East. The sleek and powerful N95 is the grand daddy of all multimedia phones. Some key features include dual slide mechanism, 5 megapixel camera which shoots DVD quality video, WiFi and GPS.

Strangely, there is no word on its availability in US. While comparing with Apple iPhone, It can do whatever iPhone could do, but no touch screen. According to Engadget, the N95 sells for €550 ($736 or 32040 INR). I’ve seen a prototype of N95 while I was in Chennai last month. Nothing to brag about this cellphone, the dual slide mechanism looks pretty cool, but it’s bulky at the same time (Dimensions: 99 x 53 x 21 mm, weighs around 120g). Comes in a typical Nseries packaging, you might also be interested to see the Applish limited edition packaging of N95.

I think the N95 is a bit pricy and that might lure consumers towards Apple’s iPhone. To be honest, N95 was on my wishlist, until iPhone was announced.

While we're busy playing Minesweeper and messing around with Vista's Flip 3D, some people have to actually get things done while staring at their LCDs for hours unending. For those stiffs, Sony is announcing its newly redesigned Luma professional LCDs, the 20-inch LMD-2030W, which sports an HDMI input for video production types, and the LMD-2450W / LMD-2050W 20 and 24-inch displays, which feature regular ol' DVI ports and 10-bit processing. The 2450W sports a 1920 x 1200 resolution, while the 20-inchers go for 1680 x 1050.
